International Emergency Drill

October 14th, 2025 – Hartsfield Jackson International Airport

As TBI prepares for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 in Atlanta, our team worked alongside the whole airport community at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to enhance our contingency procedures.

TBI Operations Department drafted a specific procedure to accommodate emergency international flights and reduce tarmac delays during peak hours by deplaning aircraft on the airfield, away from the terminal. TBI collaborated closely with Delta Air Lines, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the City of Atlanta, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and all our partners to produce an efficient, safe and secure protocol. The operation requires strict additional security measures to keep the border secure, and to maintain the integrity of the SIDA area.

Today, all teams worked together as we tested this new operation in real-life conditions! Using an actual aircraft full of volunteers, Delta Airlines ground crew, CBP and TBI successfully deplaned an Airbus A330 on Ramp 6 South before securely bussing all passengers to the federal inspection station for customs clearance.

Shoutout to all our personnel who took part in this exercise and our partners for collaborating with us. These emergency drills ensure we are ready if an incident occurs and underlines our commitment to deliver the best quality of service to all customers.
